Soul Bros. Records is finally back with an appropriate album from Frankfurt's very own Twintone. After debuting with a nice two tracker on our imprint last year he continued to send his gems - and we couldn't resist to re-activate the label to offer him a well deserved album release. He is no stranger to the scene, this LP is his fourth and all tracks are laboriously produced and mixed with good old analog equipment like back when he started making music. Twintone is a versatile Bossa Nova guitar player and works musical magic on his tracks. His style is intelligent, jazzy, soulful and atmospheric, and those who love their Drum & Bass with Amen beats will love this LP even more. Must hear tunes are the heavy "Downtime with Paula", the jazzy anthem "Tree House Retreat", the dreamy but pushing "A Siamese Dalliance" and the old school influenced tunes "Staten Island" and "Back In The Days". There are no fillers here, just crafted musical drum and bass. Twintone's music is simply great and on hot rotation here at the SBR office as we always have a soft spot for music with soul.
